It doesn’t matter what you do, or how you do it, all that matters is how it makes you feel! Don’t focus on what others are doing or what anyone expects from you! The only person that will ever understand what you are going through, or what you really need, is you. Our perception of self care can often be tainted by others’ opinions or expectations. If other people are focusing on you and telling you how you should relax, or how you should exercise more, or what you should eat, it might be coming from a good place, but in the end, they’ll never really understand why it is that you aren’t already doing those things. Everyone’s life is busy, and we all manage our time differently. Just because we’re different, doesn’t mean anyone is doing anything wrong.
We often get lost in a social media world, looking at other people’s successes and comparing them to our failures. We find ourselves constantly trying to be better than our “competitors” and fail to focus on becoming the best version of ourselves. While comparison can often lead to growth and inspiration, we just need to be careful not to compare our everyday to someone else’s best day.
